Distribution of Relief Kits is Underway in Northeast Delhi

Distribution of relief kits in northeast Delhi is underway. To date we have distributed relief kits to 96 families in Chandbagh and Karawal Nagar on behalf of the #ConcernedCitizens Project. One of those to receive a relief kit was Shama (wearing a purple stole/dupatta), who is married with six children. Her twelve year old son was not at home when the violence broke out on the 23rd February. Worried, she rushed out to look for him and ended up getting hurt. She showed us the burns on her hands and we could see that some of the wounds are still raw. Her husband provides for the family by riding a cycle rickshaw, but since the riots he has been out of work. The food items and non-food items contained in the relief kit provide much-needed assistance to families like Sharma's. Tomorrow we will be distributing another 200 kits. Please consider donating towards relief kits for these affected families. Each kit (containing food items: such as rice, flour, dal and, non-food items: such as a hygiene kit, sheets, mats) costs a total of Rs. 4180.
