The violence in North East Delhi has resulted in loss of life and injury, destruction of property and significant damage to peoples' livelihoods. We have united with other organisations (including churches) to respond to the needs of those who have suffered as a result of this violence. This initiative is called the Concerned Citizens Project. As part of our response to this situation we aim to help meet immediate needs through the distribution of relief kits to 2500 affected and needy families irrespective of religion in the areas of Brijpuri, Gokulpuri, Mustafabad, Chand Bagh, Shiv Vihar and Khajuri Khas.
Each family will be provided with: Food Items: (25 kg rice, 10 kg wheat flour, 2 kg dal, 1 kg milk powder, 1 kg sugar, 250 gm tea powder, 2 ltr oil, and spices), health supplements, and Non-Food Items: a hygiene kit (sanitary pads, 5 bathing soaps, 5 toothbrushes, toothpaste, handwash soap, 4 detergent soaps), 2 bed sheets, 2 bed mats, 2 buckets & mugs, and a towel. The items in each kit are as per Sphere Standards and will cost a total of Rs. 4180. Each family will receive their own kit. These kits will meet urgent needs. Please consider generously supporting these affected families. Please continue to pray for those who have lost their loved ones, who have sustained injuries and who are living in constant fear.
