EFICOR Kerala Flood Relief Update 4

Puthuval colony in Kuttanad is located on a small river island, 2 feet below sea level. The island, 30 meters wide and less than a kilometre long, is surrounded by the Pamba River and paddy fields. It is home to 31 families, who work as daily labourers on the paddy fields and come from the Scheduled Caste community. The recent flood submerged all their houses and destroyed many hectares of paddy crops that were to be harvested in 20 days.
