TRAINING FOR CHANGE

“Training is a process by which we intervene to change people’s lives towards involvement in God’s concern on social issues in this world” (EFICOR Training Motto)

“Through training there is knowledge. You can produce love, compassion and forgiveness. You can change yourself” (Dalai Lama). This can be achieved if the training is focused towards changing the perception, attitude and values of individuals to bring change in the society.

EFICOR has been involved in training since 1979 and has trained more than 1200 people in community development. Mentoring is an important part of the training apart from classroom sessions and field practices. This approach is based on the Jesus model, wherein He trained and mentored few ordinary men, who were “with Him” giving verbal instructions and being a constant example - preparing them to do what He modeled.

“Change is the law of life and those who look only to the past or the present are certain to miss the future of life” (John. F. Kennedy). In a rapidly changing world EFICOR has constantly strived to adapt its training to changing needs. Besides training, EFICOR has raised awareness through seminars, workshops, conferences, researches and publications. on social issues the society is facing currently.

This year, EFICOR completed 25 years of its training initiatives, and we celebrated this day as foundation day - 30th April 2004 with the theme Training for change.
