EFICOR and Martin Luther Christian University have entered into an agreement to jointly offer M. A. - Mission and Development Practice. As part of this agreement EFICOR would facilitate teaching and evaluation while MLCU will grant the degree. Martin Luther Christian University is established by Act 11 of 2005 of the Legislative Assembly of Meghalaya in accordance with the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 under Section 2(f). It is a state university with the authority to grant academic degrees under Section 22 of the UGC Act. The University is supported by the by the National Lutheran Health and Medical Board of the United Evangelical Lutheran Church of India and the Khasi-Jaintia Presbyterian Church of India. The Martin Luther Christian University is the first Christian University in India. Key Features
It is a two-year programme divided into four semesters of six months each. The first three semesters would cover 12 subjects which are categorized as basic, core and optional subjects. In the fourth semester the student requires to do a research project. Thus the programme integrates theoretical learning with practical learning from the field. This is a 50 credit programme . You may give detailed distribution of the credits the following three kinds of Courses along with research project. The courses include: Basic Courses Bible, Culture and Context Mission as Transformation Christian Ethics Core Courses Principles and Strategies of Development Sociology Community Organization and Development Project Management Organizational Development Development Research Methodology Optional Courses (1 course per semester) Gender Issues Children at Risk Micro Finance Environment HIV&AIDS Disaster Management Course Study There will be a residential contact class programme for fifteen days at the beginning of every semester. During this period there will be lectures, seminars and short paper presentations. Structured study materials will be provided to facilitate systematic study so as to have a thorough grasp of the subject. There will be assignments such as seminar presentation and book review on a regular basis through the semester to sharpen the process of reflection. From the second semester written exams for the courses of the previous semester will precede the teaching sessions for the next semester during the residential contact classes. All exams will be conducted only in EFICOR office in Delhi. Essential Eligibility Requirements
