Sustainable development in Dungarpur, Rajasthan- photo


A long term programme on Sustainable Development in Dungarpur District, Rajasthan has been rolled out in partnership with TEAR Australia. The project covers 16 villages belonging to the Bhils tribal community. The project would be addressing issues of drought, migration and livelihood. The District administration has shown cooperation and willing to provide assistance in the project implementation.

Dungerpur Taluk: The target taluk i.e. Dungerpur has a population of 393,424 out of which 71.6% belong to Schedule tribe and 3.3% belongs to Schedule caste. The sex ratio in this Taluk is 997. The literacy rate is 51.7% out of which the male and female rates are 69.1 % and 34.4 % respectively. 62.2% of the population are engaged in agriculture.
